Announcement!!! Allow me to annoy you for a moment

Hello Ladies!  I have a LOT planned for Longing 4 Length within the next few months, one of which is that I am moving to WordPress.  I wish I’d had the foresight to know that I would eventually want a WordPress blog from the beginning because I totally hate the idea and process of “moving.”  Now all the experienced bloggers out there have said that Google Friend Connect no longer works with WordPress blogs (as opposed to Blogger) – so I’m going to ask you to either add my URL (www.longing4length.com) or RSS feed to your reader or blogger dashboard, subscribe by email (found in the right column) or switch to Bloglovin if you do not mind.  The web address will still remain Longing4Length.com.  If you’re already following L4L through a reader service, you’re good!  I’d hate to lose all of my GFC friends, so please update appropriately so we can stay connected! Thanks! :-)
I know from experience that these announcements can be slightly annoying…I apologize for that!  I also don’t want to become one of those slightly obnoxious people who constantly talks about what’s about to happen. So just be prepared for more wonderful and exciting L4L announcements throughout the remainder of the year.  I am trying not to get too hype about it all…but lemme just say I’m giddy over here! Your support has been SO amazing thus far and I must take the time to say thank you very much.  I love having an audience to obsess vent talk with about hair and our cyber conversations are some of the best I’ve had, lol!

So that this post isn’t completely a public announcement…can I just tell you that my new wig is giving me LIFE honey!!! Like I told you last week, I was definitely feeling “blah” and uninspired with my hair. I mean, I love it to death, I’m happy with it but I guess I was just feenin for a change. Have you been there? Some people get a new cut, others add color or highlights…me? I get some fake hair! This is exactly what I mean when I say I protective style when I want to. From the first time I wore this wig, my hair blues were instantly cured. I’m absolutely loving Model Model’s Yunessa!!! My wash day this week consisted of co-washing my cornrows. That’s it. Grow baby grow! lol.

Okay…so what are you doing with your hair for the summer?!
I’m not seeing too many of you post about it!

This is the first summer of my HHJ so I’m not really sure how to tweak my regimen to fit the summer. I’m doing the same thing I’ve been doing in the winter/fall except I probably won’t use direct heat as much since my hair will revert in this SC heat. I guess I’ll be experimenting with braidouts, twistouts, and Bantu knot outs. I may even try a sew in.

I didn’t realize you were that new to your HHJ, you seem very experienced! I am all for textured styles in the summer!

Thanks. I did a ton of research before I started. But I started December 4th of last year.

Hi Ebony.. moving to WordPress can be stressful but it changed my blog completely when I moved from Blogger! I don’t have any summer plans cos’ being in Nigeria, the temperature is always warm here (even when it’s rainy season)!
Love the wig, by the way.

I love your blog design! And since its always hot, how do you keep your hair moisturized year round? Just curious to hear how ppl in consistently warm climates care for their hair.

I’m transitioning to natural this summer. I’m going for at least a year and I am already in my 5th month. I’ve packed away my flat iron for a while because we are not on speaking terms until I learn to use it responsibly. I did my second flexi rod set but I air dried and was so impatient that I took some of the rods out before my hair was completely dried. Lesson learned there I tell ya. Good luck with the blog move. I though about moving mine but I can’t even figure out blogger let alone try to figure out wordpress lol.

Congrats on transitioning! Girl that’s the worst – when you take them out too early it feels like a complete bust! And see I finally feel like an expert on Blogger so now…it’ll be like starting all over again!

I’m doing a protective styling challenge, so I’m in braids. Can I just tell you that I’ve had them for two weeks and I’m already tired of them. I totally understand hair blues/boredom from wearing the same style. The same thing happened to me when I would flexi-rod my hair.

    Good luck with the move!

LMBO! I feel you – and its like I got worse once I started my hair journey, I wanted to change my hair ALL the time! I’m trying to protective style for the entire summer too, we’ll see…
