Hair Product Organization Perfected!!!

I’ve mentioned briefly that I’ve been attempting to scale down my product stash and cut back on my product purchases.  I’ve been trying different methods for my hair product organization for years and more seriously within the last six months or so.  Originally I purchased two of the traditional three drawer plastic bins but that did not work.  Some products were too tall to stand up straight plus everything continually slid around every time I opened a drawer.  I kept looking for a solution and finally decided to invest in a salon rolling cart.  I had my eye on one from Salon R’ Us and was chatting with my friend Carmelita about it when she offered to purchase it for me for my birthday.  She ended up picking out this one from Amazon and asked which one I preferred.  I like this cart better as you can take the drawers of the cart out and set them on a lip to make them openly accessible at eye level – which made rollersetting so much easier.  Also this cart has shelving on the sides for products and can accommodate tall, short, large and small bottles which is perfect!  In the old drawers I keep my other hair products.  One is in the guest bathroom with this cart for my weekly wash & sets, the other is in my bedroom with my daily products, hair pins and accessories for everyday styling.  This system is absolutely perfect for me!  This cart also allows me to control my product junkie-ism because if I don’t have room in this cart…then I’m not going to purchase it!  Here is a video showing the versatility of the cart and my product arrangement.  All the links I provided in the description box on YouTube are listed below the video.

A couple of other key features about this care are that it is on wheels, which makes it super convenient.  When you are curling or flat ironing your hair, how many times do you need to tool first on the right side of your body then on the left as you complete your hair?  Problem solved!  Also the drawers come completely out of the cart, which I mentioned above.  The drawers are also adjustable, you can make them as close and as far apart as you need.  The height is also a bit higher than your typical table, making it very convenient for when you are doing your hair while standing.  On the top surface, I placed a heat mat to make it safe to place your heat tools.  For less than $100, honestly this is one of the best items I’ve purchased for my hair! I know I’ve been saying that a lot lately but that is because so many things have truly been a hit!

Great post! What a great method of organizing your products! Your friend was so sweet to gift you the cart. I love when objects have a specific/designated “home” and your cart does just that.

I’m still searching for the perfect way to house all my products. I have my eyes set on using a chimney cupboard to store and organize them… hopefully I can get my act together before summer is over and get my stash organized.

This looks like a great storage method!

I’m surprised you didn’t have one of those already. I invested in a salon cart years ago, it’s a great way to store your hair stuff. Now if only someone could invent a way of storing weaves/braiding hair, they remain in my drawer for the time being.

That looks very nice. You just reminded that my SO promised me something for my bathroom so I can organize my products.

Nice! That was sweet of your friend! I’m sure things are much easier. I need to cut back on purchasing products too but I’m always on the hunt for a great conditioner! I have a couple of faves (KeraPro thanks to you :) ) but you can never have enough, right?

I keep saying that I’m going to buy one of these. It would free up alot of space but I’d have hair and makeup products in there.

Great gift. Nice organizer. I have a drawer set from Walmart. I use it for my appliances, though. I keep my hair tools and hair candy in it. I wouldnt be able to find a container large enough for my product stash. I wish I could get to the point where I have a few products, but for now there in my closet.I guess when I have my pj stash used up I’ll invest in one of these.

When you got the cart did you have to assemble it? Or did it come like that?

Thanks for the question, I can’t believe I forgot to say that! It does not come assembled, but putting it together was pretty easy. It took me 30 minutes (I timed it) and all that you need is a Phillips head screwdriver. Basically you just screw the top, bottom and sides together.

Oh. Em. Gee! I need one of those in my life. My hair products are EVERYWHERE in my apartment… some in the coat closet, some in my clothes closet, some in one of those 3 drawer things, some under the bathroom sink… -___-

    The video changed my life.
