HOTD: Evelyn Lozada Inspired Bun

I’m loving my new bangs!  The sultry look of eye sweeping hair that can be styled in a multitude of ways…I never would’ve thought I’d enjoy it this much.  Center parted, side swept, pulled back, I just love em!  So today’s hair is the infamous Evelyn Lozada inspired bun (of Basketball Wives fame).  Confession:  I am one of the women who is completely horrified by the portrayal of black women on television these days and also what passes as entertainment.  To that end, I have not watched the show since season one.  However, I did flip to the reunion to check out everyone’s hair, makeup and fashion because say what you will about those women (BBW Miami) but they all stay snatched and beat to capacity hunni! lol.

I especially liked Evelyn’s look.  As soon as my abs get under control I see a spandex crop top in my future!  In the meantime, I styled my hair similarly in a top-knot bun, which I love!!!  Here is my version:

    I agree with you about the sad horror of what passes for entertainment these days–I detest all those minstrel shows and refuse to watch them. I don’t look to those ladies to get my fashion cues–I prefer my style mentors to have class and intelligence. For that reason, I look to you (and ladies like you), Ms. Ebony to see what’s hot in the streets……. And you are working that bun, girl. I go by either ExpatMom or Dlw5k on Hairlista and Youtube, respectively….

    That style is not flattering on your face boo, it makes it look too thick. Your version looks matronly and nowhere near as good as Evelyn’s. Your bangs are too long and the bun isn’t high enough on your head. Crop top’s? Keep dreaming hunni! Stay far away from those, you’ve got a good 40 lbs to lose before that’s up for consideration.
