It’s time for another MANICure Monday! In case you missed last week’s post about it, MANICure Monday is a blog link up hosted by Efie of LA Lynn’s and Mimi of Lipgloss & Binky. Each week we get to show off our fabulous manicures and get inspired by the wonderful work of the other women in the link up; this week it is hosted on LA Lynn’s blog. I initially planned to tackle water marbeling this week, but the weekend got a bit away from me so I did a traditional one color manicure instead.
Again this week, I used one of the new polishes I picked up from beauty vlogger Julie G’s line which is available at Rite Aid pharmacy stores and retails for $3.99. FYI, the reason I have not been including the names of these polishes is because I didn’t know them! I received a couple of inquires via Instagram and Twitter; There are not any names on the three bottles of Julie G polishes that I own. However, a quick visit to the Jesse’s Girl website revealed that this polish is called Fierce and Fab! It actually is a matte polish, which makes me feel whole lot better because I was extremely underwhelmed by the dull finish before I put a top coat on. After being so ecstatic about the glitter green last week (which I now know is called Shimmer Island), I was initially disappointed by the formula of this polish but now I realize it was supposed to dry matte.
I loveeeee the color! Again, I did have to use a top coat (which I do normally anyway) in order to give the shine you see because it dries completely matte. This polish also chipped rather quickly which makes me wonder if chipping is a characteristic of most, if not all, matte polishes? If you are a polish-nista and have experience working with matte polishes let me know. Anywhoo, there you have just another MANICure Monday!
