Beyonce’s Deep Side Part: Love it or Leave It?

First at the historic inauguration of our esteemed President Barack Obama then just this past week at the Super Bowl press conference we’ve seen Beyonce rocking a deep side part.  Once with her hair down and then with a side swept look – both beautiful but I’m not sure how I’m feeling Bey’s extreme side parting…

Honestly she’s always worn her side parts kinds deep so this really isn’t too far out of Beyonce’s comfort zone, but I do feel like its a bit more extreme as of late.

And yes…I’m going to take this moment to give my two cents about the whole lip synching the National Anthem fiasco.  I thought it was whack and that she should have wanted to actually sing live at such a historic event, but I wasn’t up in arms about it because I neither hate nor stan for Beyonce.  However, when she came back yesterday to sing the National Anthem live at the Superbowl Press Conference, I was like really Bey?  First off, since when do you even care so much what critics say then to hear her explanation about being so well rehearsed for the friggin Superbowl but not the Inauguration makes me shake my head.  You have your priorities outta whack in my humble opinion – you’re more rehearsed for a football game then a piece of not just American but BLACK history?  I think you shouldn’t have even acknowledged it at all for that matter.  My two cents.  But I am looking extremely forward to her performance Sunday!

Anywhoo, Let me know how you feel about Beyonce’s deep side part look?

Leave it – I’m not a fan. The overall look is beautiful, but that part is just a bit too far. In the second pic it’s like what, two inches away from her ear? That’s just too off-balance for me.

      LOL! my thought exactly!

I have a hate it yet love it scenario going on… I guess she was going for the indecisive (shaved one side of the head) look… I agree with you on the lip synching fiasco.. I was disappointed.

That’s exactly what I thought too – she was doing a “faux Cassie” kinda look!

I was disappointed to hear that she lip synched. However, I did like the part.

Well, you’re not alone! I’m sure for as many that don’t like it there are probably 2 more that do!

If you listen to what Beyonce explained, or if you are a singer, you will know that the reason she didn’t sing live us because she could not do a proper rehearsal or sound check. It is difficult to sing or play instruments in very cold weather. However, the Superbowl is a controlled climate where she can practice ahead of time. Secret Service was not having that for the Inauguration lol. Singers lip sync all the time if they cannot do a sound check to make sure that everything is ok. It’s not her priorities that you should blame…her priorities were fine because she wanted to make sure everything sounded perfect for an important event like that.

I totally agree and understand because I am a singer. I would much rather singer over a pre-recorded track and have it sound amazing, than take a risk and have my performance be “ok,” especially at such an important event. The media made this into a huge spectacle, in my opinion, so that there could be something negative attached to this historic occasion (didn’t work). No one knew the difference until a band member snitched. It is not as if she was the first to do this. Yo-Yo Ma “lip-synched” to his cello at an inauguration.

I don’t mind the deep part, I used to wear a similar hair style in college. It’s also a high fashion throw back, too. A few years ago major designers had models wearing this style on the runway and magazines.

I agree the band member should not have even spoken about it, but in this day and age of social media and telling EVERY part of your life…its no surprise. But sheesh whatever happened to professionalism? I actually do think this is more of an 80s throwback than anything!

Thanks for reading and leaving a comment! I did listen to her explanation but my opinion still stands as I stated. But hey – everybody has their own opinion. :-)

Love it! As a matter of fact I’m rocking a deep side part right now and I’ve gotten many compliments on my look.

      Well rock on girlie! :-)

I like the deep side part. I thought she looked beautiful. I couldn’t tell she was lip-synching during the event so I didn’t care afterwards. No one knew until it was leaked. It was her voice. Either way she sounded amazing. POTUS seemed to enjoy her performance.

Good point, I wonder if she had words with the guy who “told” afterwards! lol

I love the deep side part it makes one side Look very dramatic and sexier. As for the lip singing people need to mind they damn business because we could not have did it either way .Give a siesta a brake it’s not like she was lip singing to Whitney Houston !

LOL, true at least it was actually her voice…but still! Thanks for taking the time to comment. :-)
