I saw this manicure by one of our L4LPSC participants (@ItsmeNicciB) and immediately fell in love! I let her know I’d be recreating it and sure enough, this week for Valentine’s Day I thought it was quite appropriate so I grabbed my neutral, red and black polishes and went to work. I decided against doing a video tutorial because it really is not that complicated, plus there are a lot of leopard nails how-to tutorials posted online already. Instead, I created an easy to follow pictorial:
How to: Leopard Nails with a Pop of Red
Step 1: Paint your nails with two coats of red and neutral polish. I used OPI’s Barefoot in Barcelona on my middle, ring and thumb fingernails and Wet n’ Wild’s I Red a Good Book on my pinky and pointer fingernails.
Step 2: Over the neutral nails, apply random asymmetrical red dots using a nail art brush.
Step 3: Apply smaller asymmetrical black dots in between the red ones.
Step 4: With a smaller nail art brush, apply black polish on the outer edge of the red dots in broken circles.
Allow the polish to completely dry and finish with a top coat of your choice!
I really loveeeeee the results and felt quite sexy every time I glanced down at my hands.
For those who missed my announcement about my No-Buy Nail Polish Challenge – I’ve decided that I cannot purchase any new polishes until I use every polish in my collection. This manicure used 3 polishes and my previous Color Block nails used two, so I’m already down 5. About 130-ish to go! :-)
