Welcome to a new segment I’ll definitely be doing regularly: Resourceful Reads! When I first started my healthy hair journey there weren’t that many hair bloggers, and even less relaxed ladies (although you know I never discriminate) ladies documenting their hair journeys. But that certainly has changed!
I read all of your blogs. Seriously. If you have a blog and I’m aware, I follow and read it. However lately, I do more reading via my phone and tablet therefore don’t comment as often as I’d like, plus the sheer number of blogs I visit weekly just makes it impractical. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t learn from you and enjoy your blog regularly! I love the wealth of knowledge we bloggers collectively provide; I do not, will never and don’t claim to know everything. Sometimes a post from another blogger is so fabulous that it deserves to be shared because I’m sure it will be beneficial to others. Hence the basis of Resourceful Reads, so check out my recommendations for this first segment:
- High and Low Porosity via Just Grow Already! Jen breaks down the definition of porosity, how to tell if you have high or low porosity and ways to treat it. I love how Jen always creates cute yet clear graphics to accompany her posts. If you notice that you have problem adding or retaining moisture to your strands, you may have a porosity issue. Check Jen’s posts for more info!
- Adding Strength via Fancy Flair Lady. Kim discusses the why protein is an important component of hair and should be included in your regimen. She also lists the different types of proteins, which is extremely helpful. One of the things I think has been the MOST important in my HHJ is understanding ingredients – not just relying on product descriptions and recommendations from other long haired ladies to determine what products I should be using on my hair. I think everyone should definitely read Kim’s post.
- Phone App for Your Hair Journey via Perfect Tresses. Shay graciously shares the details of an awesome app for your phone that keeps track of your healthy hair journey. One place to keep the details of your regimen, what you did to your hair and even your photos – it sounds like an amazing tool to have! Her post is extremely detailed and I’m sure many of us have wondered for a while if such a thing exists!
Thanks Jen, Kim and Shay for having fabulous blogs and sharing your knowledge with others!
