Wash Day: Still Wiggy!

Moisture Protein Balance Hair Just a quick wash day post:  I prepoo’d with EVCO, warming it in the microwave for about 20 seconds in a small container first.  Next I poured it all over over my cornrows and massaged it into my hair and scalp.  I left it on for about 10 minutes or so then jumped in the shower and co-washed with L’oreal EverCreme Cleansing Conditioner, which I did a review on previously.  I did not deep condition, just sprayed some OBI Naturals Curl Hydration Spray and sat under my hooded dryer for about 15 minutes, then allowed my hair to airdry as I completed some household chores.  Sunday night, I resprayed my hair with the moisturizer, applied Bee Mine Growth Serum (I’ve used it almost every day since wearing this style) to my scalp and to act as my sealant and tied my hair down somewhat tightly to make sure the braids looked neat the next morning.

My braids are still holding on, I want to stretch them as long as possible to avoid excess manipulation.  I can get away with only using cleansing conditioners because I have only been using natural ingredient products on my hair all week, so there is not much buildup at all.  Wig regimens are so extremely simple to follow: spray to moisturize, seal, and cleanse as needed.

I post my wash day routine because you’ve told me they are one of your favorites types of posts to read, to keep a journal for my own purpose of what I’m doing to my hair weekly and to hold myself accountable to keep up with my regimen.  Sorry this one was so short and boring, but as I always say…boring can be good because it means you are leaving your hair alone!  Have a fabulously blessed day!

Hi Ebony, do you use the Bee Mine Serum with or without sulfur? Thanks.

Hi Danielle, I use the one with sulfur. I have been consistent with it for over a week now so I’m hoping for the same results as before when I used it regularly!

Hey Ebony did you Know that microwaving (is that a word? :P ) the Coconut oil denatures some of the naturally occurring nutrients? I think you should warm it up by surrounding it in hot water, a few minutes extra but whats that for more bang for your buck? p.s. do you ever leave in the EVCO any longer a hour, few hours, overnight? wouldn’t that give it more penetration time? sorry for the questions!

Thanks, I used to warm it up the way you suggested – I will try returning to it. I can honestly say though that I nevr noticed a difference in the effect it had on my hair though. And yes, I have left it on overnight – the only reason I don’t nowadays is simply to shorten the amount of time my wash day process takes but I still do it from time to time! And chile please don’t apologize for asking questions we’re all here to learn and grow our hair together, right?!
