Influenster VoxBox Unboxing | #MKGlam

If I am last to know of Influenster…just let it slide, mkay?  Cause evidently there is a way to get free products every month (as opposed to paying for a subscription service) and I ain’t even know it!  Influenster is a company that allows you to use your social media influence to receive free products based on your interest in a “vox” box each month.  So….in my case that would be makeup, beauty and hair!  This month I received my very first Influenster VoxBox and it is sponsored by Mary Kay.

I’ve used Mary Kay products on and off over the years since college when introduced to it through my best friend’s mother who to this day is a distributor.  As far as I can tell they have always had great products, my favorites are the Satin Lip and Hand Sets along with their eye makeup remover.  The box I received had lots of goodies in it including: translucent powder, bronzer, blush, cream eye shadow, gel eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss.  Basically everything I would need for a full face except foundation and concealer, for free!  Check out the video as I go through each of the products I received:

Admittedly, I do not need any additional makeup but I was extremely curious about the Influenster service.  As I said in the video, the process to sign up for Influenster is a royal pain.  I must have started and stopped at least ten times before finally powering through it.  However, receiving over $100 worth of full sized, quality makeup products may have just been worth it.  I also like that its a way for non-bloggers to receive perks just for being social media users.  If you read L4L and/or follow at least one of our social media outlets, then you obviously use social media and may qualify to receive your own Influenster VoxBox.

I’m looking forward to trying the Mary Kay products – they are all new to me although I did use a MK mascara back in college.  One thing I know is that Mary Kay has quality cosmetics so I don’t have to worry about anything causing a breakout, thank goodness.  It also appears that Influenster is a great place to see honest product reviews.  Nobody is receiving payment, its probably safe to assume all the reviews are honest.

Anyway, as I said, if I’m the lone loon who didn’t already know about Influenster, completely disregard everything except the actual products received this month!

Do you have to write about the products or promote them in any way?

Promote positively, no. You don’t have to rave about the items or even review them. But you do have to share via one or more social media outlets, using your influence – hence the name “influenster.”

You’re definitely not. I honestly hadn’t heard about it before you! Thanks for sharing!

I did not get invited for this one, but lucky you. I love Mary Kay products. Hopefully I will get invited for the next one. It is a great program.
