Let’s Get Kinky…Curly That Is!

This post is specifically for ladies who want to wear wigs and weaves as a protective style but are unsure how to blend kinky curly weave with their own hair.  Also, for those who’ve wondered about the fabulous hair I rocked the past few weeks it is a custom u-part wig I fashioned myself using wefted hair courtesy of Owigs.com.  The details on the specific hair can be found in the original review, and I must say this hair is only getting better with time and based on my experiences with Owigs, I’d highly recommend them.  Quality hair for competitive prices.  (If you’d like to know my top brands and other economical weave options, sign up for the L4L Newsletter for your free copy of The Ultimate Weave Resource Guide).

How to Blend Kinky Curly Weave With Your Hair - Longing 4 Length Anyway, in the video tutorial below I show how I prep my hair to blend with the kinky curls of the extensions using the new protein-free styling products by Ampro. This technique works for all textures and of course if your hair is naturally curly you can skip this step altogether.  All you really need are your fingers, water, a few small flexirods and a holding product – in this case I used Ampro Clear Ice Foaming Wrap Lotion for soft hold.

Some ladies are confused as to how to blend kinky curly weave with their real hair but as you saw it works for both my natural new growth and relaxed length.  It’s actually easier to curl your hair than worry about straightening it constantly and the curls actually last an entire week before needing to be redone.  To moisturize throughout the week, I simply spray using Jane Carter Solution Moisture Mist.  Hopefully this helps someone, thanks for reading!
