For a bit of change from the naturally wavy/curly look, lately I’ve been rollersetting my weave (10 Minute Hollywood Sew In) and rocking the resulting loose curls. One of the advantages to rollersetting is the lasting power of the style, and I find that pin curling allows me to rock sleek curls for 1-2 weeks before they begin to look old. Many ladies shy away from pin curling because they are never able to get the same smooth day 1 results. This easy tutorial will demonstrate how to pin curl hair without any dents or wonky folds in your hair.
As you can see, my day 2 hair looked just a fresh, smooth and shiny as when I removed the rollers originally. Pin curling also works to preserve the curls during my workouts. My technique has a couple of tips you may not already know – plus the Rickys NYC No-Crease Pins actually DO work and for only $6 are definitely worth purchasing. Check out the video below to see how I’m able to pin curl my hair to preserve curls without getting any weird dents.
Sometimes I’m too tired to pin curl so I simply throw a bonnet over my hair. The next day I brush the curls out for a looser look and then return to pin curling that night – the curls bounce RIGHT back!
