Fall Hair Plans


I recently began setting monthly goals again over the summer, but they were mostly fitness based – which of course will lead to healthier hair as well.  Now that I seem to be sailing along rather smoothly with my workout routine and retaining awesome length with protective styling, I decided to re-focus my goals on my hair so I can finish the year with the most healthy hair possible.  Fall officially begins on September 22, 2013.

As I have an appointment this Saturday (9/21/13) to have my hair relaxed, I will enjoy wearing it out for two to four weeks unless my workout schedule tells me otherwise.  I intend to protective style for the rest of the year, applying my growth aid daily and exercising 6 days per week to boost my hair growth and length retention through the end of the year.  With wigs this will be a breeze, I plan on taking a break from sew ins so I can apply the growth aid easily and have better access to my hair.  So my hair plans for this fall are as follows:

  • Have my hair professionally braided into a neat circular cornrowed pattern to wear my lace wigs.
  • Keep hair braided for 4-6 weeks without removing for ZERO manipulation.
  • Moisturize my hair 4-5 times per week.
  • Apply Liquid Gold Hair Growth Oil daily.
  • Co-wash weekly with Hair One.
  • Deep condition twice per month.

December 21 is the first day of winter and will end my personal hiding my hair challenge.  I also anticipate being close to reaching my goal weight which will make my normal “family reveal” at Christmas that much more special.  I will relax at the salon again when I go home and then let my hair whip honey!  I’m sure by then just the sight of fake hair will make me a bit nauseous and I will take a much needed break from wigs, weaves and any type of extensions!  I don’t see how it will be remotely possible not to have thick, healthy hair from root to tip considering I’ve essentially hidden my hair for the majority of 2013.

I’m sure a lot of you may miss my weekly wash days and frequent styling.  I do also, in a way.  I miss the creativity of styling my hair different ways, but being so focused on my mission to lose weight and get fit…I must admit hiding my hair gives me a sense of relief as it removes the pressure of trying to maintain my hair while beginning a fitness journey completely.

So basically my plans for the fall are to hide my hair and retain EVERY millimeter of growth! What will you be doing with your hair these last few months of 2013?

    I love your fall hair plans, you hair should be very healthy and long at the end. Low manipulation is definitely the way to go.
