Ya’ll know I can be long winded…so I’ll try to keep this short, for your sake! I celebrated my 30th birthday this week! WHOOO HOOO! I’m going to do a personal post on that later, but right now I only have time to tell you about my last wash day.
- No prepoo again this week (eek!) because I’m reviewing some new products from Profectiv MegaGrowth.
- Shampooed with Profectiv MegaGrowth Stimulating Shampoo
- Deep conditioned with Profectiv MegaGrowth Detangling Conditioner
- Applied Bee Mine Deja’s Hair Milk as my leave in
- Did a flexi rod set using jumbo rods (green 1″ ) using only water
- Separated and fluffed curls with Profectiv MegaGrowth Growth Oil
I had very limited time for my hair this week so I did a gigantic flexi rod set…the goal was to achieve curls that looked as if I did them with a curling iron. I liked the results except for the front pieces – I wish I’d rolled them away from my face rather than towards it. It only took me about 20 minutes to do my flexi rod set and an hour under the dryer. I actually wore them pinned up an unseparated during the day and finished styling that evening when I went out with a few friends. As you’ve realized I’m generally a neutral makeup, occasionally bright lip type of girl but since it was my personal holiday, I did a smokey eye. I realllllly love how it turned out especially since I in no way consider myself an MUA! Watch me get ready below:
As for my thoughts on the MegaGrowth products, they are pretty good. The basis of the line is that all the products contain a fair amount of protein so they are designed to strengthen, hence the “anti-breakage” description they usually boast. I think that it is very comparable to the ApHogee product line except it contains more natural oils. My hair definitely felt stronger and I saw less shedding during this wash day. My hair needed a bit of protein after conditioning with the Vatika Naturals for the past four weeks, but this is definitely not something my hair would respond to using every week by any means. It is not moisturizing enough. I’ll be trying them off and on for a few weeks, you guys know I like to really test products before reviewing so stay tuned and I’ll keep you posted – I have a BUNCH of products from them and since they are protein based, it will take a while for me to use them enough to formulate a thorough review.
Anyway, I’m getting my hair professionally done this week and traveling home to NJ for a short vacation so the REAL celebration will not commence until I’m home with my fam. I don’t think words can possibly describe how excited I am to be going home…I’m looking forward to our traditional BBQ, having some crabs (my only birthday request) seasoned with lots of Old Bay, visiting church, and spending lots of quality time with my family. True birthday blessings!
