“Night Out” Hair & Makeup – Get Ready With Me

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick Fishtail Braid - Longing-4-Length-Ebony-C-Princess-1It seems many of you are enjoying my Get Ready With Me video tutorials?  Thank you for your appreciation!  This week’s look is PERFECT for a night out on the town…hence the reason I used MAC Girl About Town lipstick.  To be real, I’m a little scared of rocking a full out smokey eye look…sometimes they look like the person was punched in the eye! Instead I prefer a softer look that is well blended as the photos show.

As for the hair, I had previously flat ironed my Brazilian wavy extensions from VIP Luxury Hair but by this day it was a few days old and I didn’t have time (or the energy) to curl the hair to make it presentable for my night out.  A side fishtail braid  is a really cute option any time you are short on time – plus it is a really cute protective style for those rocking their real hair.  Check out how I created the hair and makeup look below (flash required to view video & photos).

Although I used a few eyeshadows by MAC, you can actually use the LORAC Pro palette alone and get the same result; I am sooooo happy I finally broke down and purchased this item!  Anyway, I wore this look to happy hour with friends.  Those who know me are aware I do not drink so happy hour is only social occasion for me…and an excuse to get cute.  Honestly…where else but “out” would I wear a hot pink lippie like this?!  For those who wish not to spend $15 on a lipstick or for whom MAC products are hard to get your hands on (i.e. overseas L4L readers!) – here are a couple of drugstore dupes you may want to check out.  The photos obviously do not show their similarity but per all the beauty fanatics on the interwebs…in person they are nearly identical.

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick Dupes - Longing 4 Length

  • Robyn

You look hot girl! And thanks for particularly the Revlon suggestion, because we do have that over here in Namibia, lol. More brand suggestions for your Southern African readers could include Rimmel, Yardley, Maybelline, L’Oreal. Especially Rimmel has a couple of nice bright pinks, like Lasting Finish Sweetie and 0-20 from the Kate Moss Spring Collection.

    • Thank you! I keep wanting to try some Rimmel lipsticks because they look great but I REAAAAAAALLY don’t need anymore makeup at all!

  • Looking beautiful Ebony!!!!

Fab that you added drugstore brand alternatives 🙂
