I nailed it! I got it down!!!! I have discovered my fail proof twist out combo! Products, techniques, styling…I’m so super, extra excited not only for me, but to share it with you guys! As I shared on Instagram (follow me @EbonyCPrincess), I’ve been experimenting with a few different techniques over the past week or so and I knew based on trial and error plus some amazing feedback from Blutiful Blaq and other wonderful ladies that my next attempt would be perfection. And I was RIGHT!!! Just look at the pictures!!!
Okay, I’m sorry for being so overly excited and the coming compliments I’ll be paying myself throughout this post! Ya’ll have to understand how excited that after almost two years, I have enough length that I am not self conscious about my shrinkage or rocking MY hair out. For those who have thought to yourselves (and those bold enough to say aloud) that I should’ve cut my relaxed ends off long ago….THIS is why I chose to long-term transition MY way. I never wanted to feel dependent on fake hair because of being self conscious of my short natural hair.
Enough about that…onto the tutorial. Bee Mine has come through once again as not only my staple moisturizers as in the past but as an entire line! My hair has been loving their products, start to finish! `I recorded an updated review on Bee Mine also, which will be coming but I started this wash day by 1) Pre-poo with the Daily Moisturizing Conditioner 2) Wash with Botanical Moisturizing Shampoo 3) Deep Conditioned with Bee-U-ti-Ful Moisturizing Conditioner 4) Lightly blow dry to stretch 5) Style with Juicy Spritz, Curly Butter and Jamaican Black Castor Oil Food.
Now, we all know my love affair with Bee Mine Organics (formerly Bee Mine Products) runs deep – but I believe the steps will work with whatever products you prefer. Liquid moisturizer (even plain water), a creamy curl holding product and castor oil is the magic combo. I also prefer flat twists, to help elongate my hair plus it’s faster than “loose” two strand twists. Check out the twist out tutorial as I walk you through the style step by step….you won’t believe how easy it is!
I know its been a while since I’ve shared my own hair – no weave or extras, but I’m so excited now that I’ve learned how to do a twist out that looks GREAT on medium length natural hair. Embracing shrinkage has not been as difficult as I thought it would be simply because the thickness more than makes up for not showing the full length of my hair. However, I can’t wait til it grows longer – I’ll really be showing out! 🙂
