#L4LHair Tip Tuesday | Twist Out vs Braid Out

Welcome back Hair Tip Tuesday!  Today’s post is on arguably two of the most popular style techniques in the hair community, the twist out versus braid out.  Personally, I have always preferred braid outs on relaxed hair and twist outs on natural hair (for both myself and other ladies).  Something about the natural curls and coils of textured hair seems to “set” better when twisted and straight hair seems to intertwine with three strands better, but again….that’s just personal opinion.

As stated, both are low manipulation, heat free styles that stretch your hair.  Neither shows the full length of your hair but are gorgeous, easy ways to do your hair yourself at home.  My staple braid and twist out products are Bee Mine Organics, specifically the curly butter but I haven’t tried a fraction of the amazing products on the market.  Once I found my staples, I pretty much stuck with them.

I’d love to hear your opinion and any styling tips or product recommendations for your perfect braid or twist outs.  Your feedback is always super helpful so I’m all ears!

  • I love braid outs but agree twist outs seem to work great for natural hair. As I Am twisting cream is amazing .

I love braid outs on my relaxed hair as well. I really like how your twist out looks. A great product to try for twist/braid outs is Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie.
